If you consider hosting your own website and move out of blogspot or wordpress domains, you are making a very good move and i really appreciate it. But if you choose windows hosting, you are losing the game. DO NOT GO FOR WINDOWS HOSTING.

There are several reasons for not going for windows hosting.

1. Security and virus - The chances that you are running windows and your system being virus free is near to impossible and the virus easily enter your server and can make harmful effects other than ruin user respect.

2. compatibility - While you can access a linux hosting from any terminal, it is not easy to access a IIS server from any machine and requires windows machines, thereby losing compatibility.

3. shared access - Since you access a shared folder in your server, the probablity that other people in your server can read your content, (read sometimes even delete)is high. Breaking in to a windows system is a easy job. Need help, ask me
4. Stability - While IIS is almost good, it still is not as good as apache in terms of stability. My servers never sweat, and windows servers think a lot and transmission speed is also less.

Windows hosting is a very bad choice. Go for linux hosting and access from windows machine too.
