Digg Traffic

I have encountered websites putting up light weight alternate pages when their pages hit digg front page. Digg does bring in millions of visitors every month and the categorization is also good. A techie would not visit sports page, but would probably visit the apple page. But when thousands of visitors hit your servers on a single day, it is nice to monetize the traffic. Here are a few things to do when your servers sweat out of digg traffic.

1. Remove dynamic content from sidebar and footer
2. Give away thumbnails and hence reduce large pictures.
3. Put a adsense banner on the top.
4. Put popular posts in the first fold.
